Hi and Welcome

I am Hamid hamedi. PhD student of the Fiber and Polymer science in the North Carolina State University. I received my M.Sc. in the chemical engineering from Iran University of science and Technology (IUST). prior to the my PhD program I was research assistant in the Prof. Tonelli’s lab for a year. As a research assistant, In our research group, we were working on preparing 3D hydrogel network based on biopolymers such as chitosan, alginate and polyvinyl alcohol for biomedical applications (wound dressing and drug delivery). In the next step we loaded some drugs entrapped in Cyclodextrin molecules. Cavity (guest-host) property of Cyclodextrin helps us to extend the time of drug release and have a better control on drug release. Selective properties of Cyclodextrin could be used for entrapping various materials in different applications such as pharmaceutical and biomedical engineering. Besides, we studied on Nano-emulsion behavior in the polyelectrolyte complex of chitosan and alginate. Currently I am a member of Biomedical Textile Research Group and I am working on the smart biopolymers for developing an active adhesive wound dressing.
